Why do we ask for the last four digits of you Social Security Number?
We want your MY TexasBar page and calendar to be available only to you and those you authorize to use it. Because Texas Bar numbers are publicly available, we added a more effective means of validation. When a Texas attorney first registers at MYTexasBar --and only at registration-- we cross-check your Bar number against part of your Social Security number to provide greater assurance that you are who you say you are. Once you set your personal password, you won't need to use even a part of your Social Security number again.
